Templates

Templates are project files you designate as reusable starting points. Audyn shows you their tracks, plugins, and arrangement before you use them to create a new project.

What are templates?

A template is any .als file that you register as a reusable base for new projects. Audyn reads it and displays all its metadata (track count, plugins, samples, and arrangement) so you can preview everything before using it.

Template folders

In Settings > General, you can add folders dedicated to templates. These are scanned separately from your project folders. Every .als file found in a template folder is indexed as a template.

Keep your templates in a dedicated folder, separate from your active projects. This prevents them from showing up in both the Templates and Projects views.

Adding individual files

You can also add individual .als files as templates without putting them in a template folder. Use the "Add File" button in the Templates view.

Creating a project from a template

Select a template and click "Create Project". Choose where to save it and give it a name. Audyn copies the file to the new location. The original template is never touched.

Template preview

Click a template to see everything inside it: track list (audio, MIDI, group, return), plugins and effects, sample dependencies, and a full arrangement preview. You can also add personal notes to any template.
