Getting Started

Install Audyn, add your project folders, and run your first scan. The built-in setup wizard walks you through each step.

System requirements

Audyn runs on Windows and macOS. You do not need Ableton Live installed to use it.

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
  • About 100 MB of disk space

Installation

Download the installer from your account page on audyn.app after creating an account.

  1. 1Download the .exe installer (Windows) or .dmg image (macOS).
  2. 2Run the installer and follow the instructions.
  3. 3Launch Audyn. A setup wizard will guide you through the initial configuration: choosing your project folders, setting your preferences, configuring plugin folders, and running your first scan.

Adding your project folders

During setup (or later in Settings), tell Audyn where your Ableton projects are stored. You can add one folder or several. Audyn will search through them and all their subfolders.

Add your main music production folder. Audyn finds all project files inside it, no matter how deeply nested. You can add, remove, or reorder folders at any time in Settings > General.

Your first scan

Once your folders are configured, Audyn scans every project file it finds. It reads each .als file, extracts its metadata, and adds it to your library. The first scan may take a minute or two for large libraries (5,000+ projects). After that, scans are much faster since only new or changed files are processed.

Audyn watches your folders for changes in real time. When you save a project in Ableton, it shows up in Audyn automatically. No need to rescan manually.

The interface

Audyn is organized into three main areas:

Sidebar

Navigate between Dashboard, Projects, Collections, Templates, and Plugins. You can collapse the sidebar to save space.

Main area
