Projects
The Projects view is your main workspace. It shows every Ableton project Audyn has found, with all extracted metadata at a glance.
Browsing your library
By default, projects are shown in a table with sortable columns: name, BPM, key, track count, plugin count, status, tags, and last modified date. Click any column header to sort.
List view
A detailed table with sortable columns. You can customize which columns are visible from the column header menu.
Grid view
Visual cards showing cover image, BPM, key, and status badge.
Search and command palette
Press Ctrl+K from anywhere to open the command palette: a single search that spans your projects, templates, and collections at once. Results are grouped by type and show a preview with cover image, BPM, key, and status.
For projects, search matches the name, genre, notes, todos, tags, and every version's name, notes, and label. Templates are matched by name, category, and notes; collections by name and description. When the palette is empty, it shows quick navigation shortcuts to the Dashboard, Projects, Collections, Templates, and Settings.
Open the command palette: Ctrl+K
Filtering and sorting
Filters let you narrow down your library by any combination of criteria. They apply instantly and can be stacked.
Available filters: key, BPM range, status, tags, plugins used, Ableton version, track count, duration, and folder. Tags and plugins support "match any" or "match all" modes.
Example
You have 800 projects and need to find all sessions in A minor between 118 and 126 BPM that use Serum. Set Key = Am, BPM = 118-126, Plugin = Serum. The list updates instantly to show 12 matching projects.
Project detail view
Click any project to open its detail view. The header shows the project name, file path, and cover image. An actions menu lets you open the project in Ableton, reveal it in the file explorer, or delete it from your library.
Content is organized into tabs: Overview (metadata, notes, todos), Versions (file timeline), Arrangement (visual track layout, Pro), Plugins (device chains, Pro), and Samples (referenced audio files, Pro).
Project metadata
Audyn automatically extracts technical metadata from your .als files (BPM, key, tracks, etc.). On top of that, you can add your own: genre, status, cover image, notes, and todos. You can also set a custom cover image by uploading any picture.
Todos and notes
Each project has a built-in todo list and a notes field for free-form text. Todos help you track what needs to be done on each project.
- Set a priority level for each todo: Low, Medium, High, or Urgent
- Add due dates with quick presets (tomorrow, in 3 days, next week) or a custom date
- Drag and drop to reorder your tasks
- All pending todos from all projects are aggregated in the Dashboard
Project status
Each project can be assigned a status that represents where it is in your workflow. The status appears as a colored badge in project lists, can be used as a filter, and shows up in the Dashboard charts.
Default stages: Idea, Draft, WIP, Mixing, Mastering, Done. Each stage has its own color.
You can rename, reorder, add, or remove stages in Settings > Workflow to match your personal process.
Tags
Tags are labels you create and assign to projects for your own categorization. Use them for mood, genre, client, instrument, or anything else. A project can have multiple tags, and tags can be used as filters in the Projects view and in smart collections.
You can merge multiple tags into one: all project associations are transferred automatically.
Bulk operations
Select multiple projects in list or grid view to perform batch actions. A selection bar appears at the bottom with the available operations:
- Change genre for all selected projects
- Set status for all selected projects
- Add tags to all selected projects
- Move projects to a collection
- Delete projects from the library
Opening in Ableton
Open any project directly in Ableton Live or reveal its folder in your file explorer. Audyn detects your Ableton installation automatically, or you can set the path manually in Settings.
